He graduated in MBBS AND MD in General Medicine from Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh; He did DM in Neurology from Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad, India. He was a State 2nd ranker in Intermediate Public Examination, AP, in May 1992, topper in Anatomy University Examination,1994, 9th Ranker in AP PG entrance Test, 1st in NIMSET- Neurology entrance examination and a recipient of the Best Super speciality Resident of NIIMS award in 2006.
